Greggs fans will be pleased to know they can now make their very own sausage rolls from the comfort of their home. Bargain superstore B&M is selling a £20 kitchen appliance that is a 'must' for anyone who enjoys baked goods.

The retailer's Heat and Eat Sausage Roll Maker is available in stores and is sure to be a great Christmas present for anyone starting their festive shopping early. The 'easy to use' Sausage Roll Maker promises 'golden, crisp and flaky' results.

It comes with automatic temperature control and non-stick cooking plates for minimal cleaning. It also includes a cool touch handle and you can add any filling you want, not just sausage.

The appliance, which has been a hit among pastry lovers, first made its debut on the shelves last year. It quickly sold out thanks to its handy design that looks like a sandwich press, but is specifically made for sausage rolls.

The device reflects a growing trend among consumers who are opting for DIY methods to create their beloved snacks. It comes amid a shift that is partly influenced by persistent budget limitations and the cost of living crisis.

On popular Facebook group, Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, one B&M shopper expressed their delight at buying the gadget. Sarah Floss uploaded pictures of the device in action and wrote: "After seeing on here and never having in, [I] got the sausage roll maker in B&M."

She said the appliance is "very easy" to use. Sharing a recipe she tried, she added: "Made sausage onion relish and smoked cheese, also tried cheese, onion and djon mustard, which was nice."

Hundreds were quick to share their thoughts in the comment section, with one fellow group member called Maria replying: "This looks fatal for someone with my love of pastry goods." Matt added: "I bought 2 last year, I make sausage rolls and apple pies with mine."

Sasha praised the gadget for its health benefits. "This is so great for people with coeliac disease: can use a gluten free pastry and filling," she said. Carl claimed: "I saw them all over TikTok for a while as well - I’m tempted."

Jack asked: "Right be honest, from a scale of 1 to 10, how easy was it to make? 1 being I could have just bought one and 10 being was basically a toastie?" Sarah replied: "Easy as a toastie pastry, on to edge, put filling in, folded pastry over cooked for 15 mins."

However, William said: "I'd probably still end up in Greggs before I made any homemade ones."
